Abstract:
The charm between behavioral and nonbehavioral views of clinical phenomena results in communication difficulties in both directions. We distinguish five situations based on the nature and degree of differences in understanding within the two language systems. We recommend different communication strategies for behavioral scientists, depending upon which situation best applies.
