Abstract:

The authors, researchers at the National University of Ireland and University of Leiden, examined equivalence-equivalence in children and adults. All adults showed equivalence-equivalence most of them before equivalence. The study demonstrates that equivalence is an age related performance.

Comments:
This study attempted to train equivalence-equivalence relations with 5-year-old children. Only 8 of 18 showed equivalence-equivalence relations when tested. The procedure was then tested with adults and was successful with all of them.
